Nobody Loves Me
As the sun sets, it becomes the time of the bats. Wonderful creatures misunderstood by many. The title, Nobody Loves Me comes from an add campaign that was run in many of the nature periodicals in 2022. In particular, the ‘Me’ is the bat peaking through the crack in the painted paper that has been layered over the support. Couldn’t get much cuter than this little guy. The bat in the upper right is from an old biological illustration. I’ve had it for a long time just waiting for the right combination to use it. Having lifted the image from the paper using many layers of acrylic gel gives the image some great dimensional qualities.
Mixed media of collage, acrylic paint, acrylic medium.
