Mockingbird on Bittersweet
Birds need to be elevated in the human consciousness. That’s what is going here, the Mockingbird being put on top of a column of objects. Everything else points to and supports the bird. I enjoy taking photos of details of old sidewalks. Here I’ve printed one on copy paper and then tore it up to place around the piece. It’s the world we travel and below the status of our bird friends. The piece is very textured and dynamic. Hard to stop looking at it.
Mixed media of collage, laser photocopies, collage paper, acrylic paint, oil pastels, acrylic medium.
